DESKO eBP - Paperless Boarding Pass
Bayreuth, April 29th 2009 In a pilot recently awarded, DESKO GmbH is providing pass scanners at the TSA security checkpoint Las Vegas McCarran Airport. In this pilot passengers of DL, NW, CO or AA departing out of LAS will be able to receive their boarding pass on their cell phone or PDA. The DESKO scanners (called BPV 502) can read and validate electronic Boarding Passes (eBP) using TSA defined security features. In addition the scanner automates the visual inspection process that the TSA is normally performing, thus speeding up the process.
"The pilot at Las Vegas McCarran is an important step in offering this new service to airline passengers. We worked very closely with the staff at McCarran to expand the capabilities of our equipment to validate and clear airline passengers on 4 airlines: DL, NW, CO and AA - called interoperability. This capability distinguishes McCarran as the first airport to offer mobile boarding to multiple airline passengers", said Cliff Burchfield, Executive Director, DESKO LC - US subsidiary.
